We’re here to share what we know — but don’t take it as medical advice. Talk to your medical provider if you have questions.

Technology has made access to quality healthcare—including skincare—so much easier. It’s truly amazing. As a skincare company that’s advancing telemedicine to offer easy, affordable access to top-quality dermatology care online, we’re super proud to be a part of this movement. But there’s one thing we’ll never do: we’ll never prescribe you a custom skincare treatment using an algorithm, AI, or a robot in a lab coat.

Can you diagnose acne online?

The trendy thing in skincare is to offer custom beauty products using an algorithm. That’s all well and good for some things, but we believe your skin deserves a more personal touch. That’s why when you join Curology, you get matched with a real licensed medical provider to address your individual needs, from acne to hyperpigmentation to fine lines and wrinkles.

Our medical providers assess your skin’s needs by looking at your photos, reviewing your medical history, and reviewing the answers you give during your skin quiz — just like seeing a dermatology provider in person. We believe that a human touch is crucial in prescribing the right treatment for our Curology patients. We wouldn’t do it any other way!

Curology dermatology provider

We’re not snubbing tech or anything, but isn’t it always nicer to deal with a real person rather than a bot? Especially because our providers love what they do.

  • Even though the patient isn’t sitting in front of me, I still care for my patients and have a relationship with them. I actually think in many ways I have a better handle on how my patients are doing here in a telemedicine practice than I did in my brick-and-mortar traditional dermatology practice, because the photos that our patients upload allow us to follow their treatment progress closely. I think we medical professionals do what we do because we want to help people and Curology gives us the opportunity to reach so many more patients than we would otherwise.” —— Curology co-founder and board-certified dermatologist Dr. Nancy Satur.

Does Curology use real doctors?

Each Curology patient is partnered with a board-certified physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner, who is licensed in the patient's state. All follow-up consultations and messages are sent to the same dermatology provider. If you change providers, your new medical provider will have access to your full medical history with Curology to allow a smooth transition of care.

All of our providers live and practice in the United States. Curology’s dermatologists are graduates of leading medical schools and have completed dermatology residencies accredited by the American Board of Dermatology. Our physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners have trained extensively in dermatology and work closely alongside our dermatologists.

Meet Curology's dermatology providers

Not to toot our own horn, but working at Curology is pretty great. The medical providers in our telemedicine practice treat patients via our innovative online platform, which allows for flexible schedules and a good work/life balance.

Don’t just take it from us — here’s what it’s like to work at Curology, straight from a few of our dermatology providers.

Jessica N., PA

  • After working in several different types of settings in medicine, including ER, surgery/hospital, and office practice setting, this has been the most innovative and exciting job of my career as a PA! Curology has made me so optimistic about the way healthcare is headed and I love working with intelligent, motivated, awesome peers who truly care about our patients. The flexible schedule is a huge bonus, and I actually feel like I work better and more efficiently because of it. I love being able to really educate patients and thoroughly answer questions that make a positive impact in the treatment of acne. I truly love this job and feel so lucky to be a part of the Curology team!

Laura G., NP-BC

  • Being a provider at Curology is the best position I’ve ever had! Not only are we revolutionizing the way we treat acne, but we are having so much fun doing it! We have such amazing team members in every department that work hard to bring quality acne care to our patients. Every day is a blast, and I just love coming in to the office and seeing all these friendly faces. Communicating with patients via our telemedicine platform gives providers the time to personalize patient education that lives on in the patient interface forever. Such a nice change from back-to-back 15 minute visits and no lunch breaks! If you are someone that wants to be a part of something innovative, life-changing, and super cool, Curology is the place for you.

Michelle T., NP

  • I love love love my job!!! Never before have I felt listened to in regards to shaping the care of my patients. It feels fantastic that my words have an impact. I feel beyond supported by my leaders and my colleagues. Besides the emphasis on work-life balance, there’s an easy-going and supportive atmosphere that I appreciate, and we work hard to protect it. I was a little scared about the jump from in-person care to telemedicine, but from the feedback I’ve gotten from my patients and from what I’ve seen that this platform can do for them, I’m proud to be a part of this evolution in patient-care. Did I mention that I love my job?

Tania M., NP

  • This is the most amazing job with insanely great leadership, unbelievable flexibility, fantastic coworkers, and happy patients (which is a VERY big deal!). Plus THE BEST EMR/EHR [electronic medical record/electronic health record] I have ever used, which is an even bigger deal!
